Statement:
Sometimes when we return to a forgotten place we have difficulty in remembering what was there. Everything seems to have changed its hidden existence. Objects continue to have familiar functions, but without us they have faded energy. If it were not for our connotations they would certainly free themselves from those functions and begin to live in a new way; like cut wood which continues to sprout or crystal which spontaneously shatters. Similarly, light feeds inanimate objects, filling them with new texture of splitting them into a new constellation. My sculptures are inspired natural organic shapes. These sculptures also have reminiscences of prehistoric axes and idols. Shape and form is embedded in the subconscious relating to the natural world with a strong tactile quality. The surface of the sculpture evolves and is dictated by the process of carving and the carving tool and all diverse ceramic processes.
Graduated from Academy of Fine Art Krakow, Poland 1981 MA in Painting with Distinction
